Complete Utility Contractors is installing a 1500mm diameter storm main through solid bedrock along side of Highway 1 in West Vancouver.
The crew is blasting 3 times per day in order to clear the path for the newly installed storm main. Each blast requires rolling closure of the highway and co – ordination with the Ministry of Transportation.

Cool Fact: Each of these blasting mats made from recycled truck tires weigh 50lbs per square foot or approximately 7,500 lbs each. Piled up all together as seen on the video, that is one heck of a weight and it shows how powerful the dynamite explosion actually is!
