Our crew is quite literally charting new heights in the Capilano neighborhood of West Vancouver, where we're undertaking a challenging sanitary sewer gravity construction project on one of the steepest sites we've ever encountered.

How steep terrain can an excavator climb?

  • Completion Date: November 2024
  • Start Date: September 2023
  • Client: District of West Vancouver

Rising nearly 30 meters in elevation from Mathers Avenue, the slope we're working on climbs at a sharp 45-degree angle and stretches close to a kilometer uphill. What makes this project especially remarkable is that our equipment is the very first to break ground and leave trackmarks on this untouched hillside — paving the way for an entirely new residential development.

Before roads are built, before utilities are laid, and before homes can rise — we are the first on site, opening up access and laying the groundwork for what will soon become an upscale community. The trenches we're digging and the infrastructure we're installing are, quite literally, bringing the first signs of modern life to this future neighborhood.

The scope of this foundational sewer infrastructure project includes:

  • 140 linear meters of 400 mm HDPE pipe installed via pipe bursting
  • 800 meters of new PVC and HDPE gravity sewer
  • 300 meters of HDPE forcemain
  • Construction of a brand-new lift station, complete with an FRP wet well, valve chamber, electrical kiosk, and backup generator

This is more than just another project — it's the first chapter in a transformation. And we're proud to be the team writing it.
